But it can never bring us true love, neither a genuine heart.
But some just choose to believe money is everything.They choose to believe that all human beings are materialistic. If one has got no money, he/she will have no friends and no one to stand by them. If you are poor, you cannot enjoy life like the rich do and you can never find happiness.But these are what you youself choose to believe.
I've just spoken to a friend I've known since secondary school.
I realise he has changed alot.
I'm not saying his face or hair lah.
But his views and attitude towards people around him.
He's a very filial boy eversince I knew him years back, very nice towards his friends and very hardworking.
Knowing that his Dad has got financial problems, he worked part-time even while studying.
He had difficulty coping with schoolwork and his then girlfriend.
She was understanding and didn't mind that he had no time for her.
But eventually, they broke up bcos' he felt he neglected her too much.
Years passed, and now he's someone all changed.
He is still as filial, he still cares alot for his friends, he has got a new girlfriend.
But he has became very very money-minded.
He will do anything for money.
Or rather, he thinks money is everything.
He said if he is not rich:
He believes his girlfriend will leave him for someone rich.
He believes no one will wanna be with him.
He believes he will lose everything.
And he will not be able to enjoy life at all.
I said:
If your girlfriend leaves you bcos' you ain't rich, then let her go for good.
If money can buy you true love, does that mean the not-rich can never live happily ever after with their the other half?
Money is not everything.
Its true that the rich can go for spas and high teas, dine at fancy restaurants, drive a Lamborghini, wear a Rolex. But the poors can also enjoy the simple life equally much, enjoy hokkien mee and rojak at hawker centres, drive an average car and still be as happy.
He says:
All people out there are very materialistic, especially the girls.
If you ugly but rich, sure can find gf.
But if you handsome but poor, also no use.
I replied:
No. There are girls who are so damn materialistic out there but no all are like that.
And I would say, majority aren't.
